Advice and a Limo Ride
Some teachers look at teaching as more than just a job; and this shows in out of class activities. About a dozen teachers at Adams Elementary School just couldn't let students get away on their last day of school without offering some advice on how they should spend their summer.
As they gathered out front to say goodbye, to the students on the last day of school on Thursday, they waved colourful signs that read: Laugh a lot, Be nice to your brothers and sisters, Read and Wash your hands
But there was an extra new sign this year; and what was the latest addition to the collection of signs? Learn to tie your shoes!
Also, a few of the teachers couldn't resist borrowing the familiar chant from ABC's Extreme Makeover show and shouted Move that bus! Move that bus! as the last surge of children climbed aboard.
This rather boisterous send-off is an annual end of school year tradition at Adams. Most of the paper banners were made years ago by art teacher Donna Jepsen-Minyard and once the string of buses full of excited kids pulled away, they were carefully rolled up and saved for next year.
At the other end of the school yard, students 11-year-old Loren Ash and two of her best friends, Alyssa Erwin and Karina De La Cruz, were climbing into a white stretch limousine. Loren's dad, Robert Ash, had arranged for a driver from Kool Nites limousines to pick the girls up as soon as school was over. Chauffeur Gary DeWall said he planned to spend about two hours driving around town. This included a stop at the ice cream shop so the girls could enjoy an ice cream as they cruised in the limo.
Hiring a limo is not just for proms and weddings. In fact, hiring a limo to mark the end of the year of the school year is an opportunity to take pleasure from life's simple moments; and it's not as expensive as you may think. Give your kids and group of their friends an extra treat this year; treat them a ride in a hire limo to celebrate their end of school break-up.
